Two priests, who were kidnapped and later abandoned by their abductors, have continued to relieve their ordeal.
Rev Fr. Peter Nwachukwu, of St. Theresa’s Parish, Umueze-Anam in Anambra, and Rev Fr. Cajetan Apeh, his assistant, were kidnapped at Nneyi village, Umuleri on December 24th, while preparing for the visit of cardinal Arinze.
In a testimony in Enugu State, Rev. Father Apeh, revealed that the perpetrators were four herdsmen who were armed with AK 47 rifles and they only let them go, when it became clear they could not get money from them or their families.
Apeh said they were bitten by mosquitoes throughout the period, alleging that they slept in the open farm without anything to cover themselves, but that their captors wore jackets to protect them from the cold.
