EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT: AUN cooperative giving students hope

The American university of Nigeria has reached out to the students of Government Day Secondary School Yola town.

The initiative is AUN cooperatives effort in enhancing education in Adamawa State.  

The cooperative paid school fees for 150 senior students for the next two terms.


The gesture according to the cooperatives social welfare committee chairman Benjamin Musa is in line with the University’s philosophy as a development institution.

He says aside other community services of the AUN’S cooperative society; this is the second educational community service the cooperative has offered.


The school’s principal who received the AUN cooperative society members in his office says this is the first of its kind in the school.

He is happy that the gesture will encourage the intelligent students and strengthen the weak ones among them.

He is glad that the parents of the students will have no worries with the payment of their wards school fees for the next two terms.

Each of the 150 students received their two terms school fees summing up 300,000.

The students also couldn’t hide their joy with the gesture. They revealed that their fears of having to be driven out of classes and school due to lack of payment of school fees is now a thing of the past.
