DESPITE her superlative performance at the recently concluded Afrobasket where the men’s senior national team, the D’Tigers emerged second best after losing in the final to host, Tunisia, Nigeria dropped on the current FIBA ranking released Wednesday.

She now occupies the 26th position on the world ranking, dropping 10 steps from the 16th position she reached after winning the Afrobasket two years ago but retains her position as the number one in Africa, ahead of Angola who also lost 10 steps to now occupy the 33rd position in the world and number two in Africa.

Senegal lost five steps and are now 36th in the world and third in Africa while champions Tunisia, despite their victory, are 45th in the world and fourth in the continent, a step ahead of Egypt who are fifth in Africa and 48th in the world after dropping seven steps.
